MG Pakistan has officially introduced the SGMW Binguo EV in collaboration with JW SEZ, marking a new entry in Pakistan’s electric vehicle market at an ex-factory price of Rs. 5,999,000. Bookings have opened with an advance payment of Rs. 1.2 million, and deliveries are expected to begin in Q1 2026.
The Binguo EV, also known internationally as the Wuling Binguo EV, is a compact B-segment electric hatchback developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW). It was showcased at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS) 2025 and at select dealerships to gauge consumer interest ahead of its launch.
The launch aligns with the New Energy Vehicles Policy 2025–2030, which aims for 30 per cent of new vehicle sales to be electric by 2030 and 90 per cent by 2040 through fiscal incentives, infrastructure development, and local industry support. Analysts say the policy also plans to install thousands of charging stations nationwide to support EV uptake.
An MG Pakistan spokesperson said the “Electric Icon” reflects the company’s commitment to accessible electric mobility for urban consumers and will help assess expectations for future EV offerings. A JW SEZ representative noted the collaboration underlines how global partnerships can support Pakistan’s transition to cleaner transport.
The Binguo EV is powered by a 31.9 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor, delivering a CLTC-rated range of around 333 km on a full charge. Charging options include standard AC home charging and DC fast charging, which can restore the battery from low levels to around 80 per cent in roughly 30–35 minutes under suitable conditions.
Design highlights feature LED headlamps with distinctive daytime running lights, “flowing water” body lines, and a duck-tail rear. Inside, dual 10.25-inch displays, synthetic-leather upholstery, and a multifunction steering wheel aim to balance comfort and modern tech for urban drivers.
Standard safety features reportedly include SRS airbags, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, and rear parking sensors with a camera — features that reflect a growing focus on safety in Pakistan’s evolving EV market.

The Binguo EV enters a market where EV options remain limited but are expanding. The policy’s incentives for EVs with modest battery capacities help make price points like under Rs. 6 million possible, though the upfront cost still exceeds many conventional petrol hatchbacks. Experts say running cost savings and lower emissions could appeal to urban commuters in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
MG’s move also comes amid broader shifts in Pakistan’s auto landscape, with more Chinese and global automakers preparing EV launches to tap demand for cleaner, efficient transport. The rollout of the Binguo EV could help spur wider adoption if charging infrastructure and consumer awareness continue to improve under the NEV policy’s roadmap,” according to pakwheels.
