Naqvi stresses religious scholars to play role to eliminate menace of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that consultations will be held with religious scholars from all schools of thought to develop an effective strategy in the fight against terrorism.


Speaking with Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad in Islamabad today, he mentioned that a nationwide consultation campaign with Ulema would soon be launched, acknowledging their significant role in national development.

He noted that Ulema had previously guided the nation in the struggle against terrorism and that their guidance remains crucial.


Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that terrorists have no religion and that the adversary aims to undermine national unity by sowing discord. He pledged to counter the enemy’s malicious agenda through collective efforts.


The meeting also addressed topics related to peace-building, the fight against terrorism and sectarianism, and the promotion of interfaith harmony and brotherhood.


In his comments, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad affirmed that the entire nation supports its brave armed forces and security agencies in their efforts to eliminate terrorism and extremism. He also praised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for his efforts and contributions toward maintaining peace in the country.
