Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has called for a new auto policy supporting greater localisation of parts to strengthen local vendor development and Pakistan’s capacity.
Speaking at the SME Cluster Expo in Lahore, managing director and chief executive officer Hiroshi Kawamura said the company continues supporting Pakistani vendors meet standards.
He said foreign investment remains critical for Pakistan not only for capital inflows but also for technology transfer and building long term industrial capability development.
Kawamura said Pakistan needs strong small and medium enterprises alongside sustained engagement from foreign partners to support growth within the industrial ecosystem across national sectors.
He said platforms like the SME Cluster Expo help link SMEs with large industries expanding opportunities and acknowledged the role of SMEDA in Pakistan nationwide.

The SME Cluster Expo was organised by SMEDA with the Ministry of Industries bringing together more than one hundred seventy four enterprises to showcase products.
SMEDA Director Mashood Khan said SMEs are to the economy employing nearly twenty five million people and contributing exports worth rupees two point eight billion.
He said SMEs play a central role in employment generation and export growth but require timely practical policy support to unlock their full potential nationwide.
Khan said SMEs showed resilience during the Covid period by localising production and maintaining supply chains despite limited resources across the country during challenging conditions.
He added the expo attracted strong interest with several enterprises securing orders and sales supporting future collaboration and growth within the small business sector nationally.
