The Pakistan cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka in January 2026 for a three-match T20I series against the hosts as part of preparations for the T20 World Cup.

All fixtures are scheduled at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla on 7, 9, and 11 January.

The tour will provide Pakistan valuable match practice ahead of the global event, and the team has been drawn in Group ‘A’ for the tournament.

All World Cup matches are set to be played in Colombo, with the event scheduled from 7 February to 8 March and co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

The announcement follows a successful 2025 season for Pakistan, which concluded with home series victories over South Africa and Sri Lanka.

The green shirts first hosted South Africa in October for three-match T20I and ODI series, winning both 2-1.

They then faced Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, sweeping the series 3-0, and went on to claim the T20I tri-series title against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

During the busy calendar, Pakistan lost just three matches – one ODI and two T20Is – while winning all four series.

After a month-long break following the home season, Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka, then host Australia for a T20I series.
