Parliament to decide expulsion of French Ambassador: Qadri
The PTI government has decided to bring the issue in Parliament to deport the French Ambassador in Pakistan.
The Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) had agreed to give up its sit-in in Islamabad and Rawalpindi following successful negotiations with the federal government in November last year. The government had agreed on the expulsion of the French ambassador within three months.
The TLP had started a huge anti-France rally to condemn French President Emmanuel Macron’s act of defending the publication of blasphemous sketches of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has said that the government would bring the issue of deportation of the French ambassador in the parliament.
He said that the political parties present in the parliament would decide. The constitution can be amended with the need of the time, he said.
On the occasion of the inauguration of a mosque at Quaid-e-Azam University, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs said that he was grateful for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates.
About a discussion going on with TLP on April 20, the minister said that they should bring him to Parliament. The Federal Minister said that the Constitution has protected Pakistan. The Parliament has the powers to change the Constitution.
