Petrol Price in Pakistan Reduced by Rs 40 per liter

The caretaker government has made a massive increase in the price of petrol up to Rs 40 per liter effective from October 16, 2023.

However, it slashed the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 15 per liter.

The price of petroleum products has been slashed in line with fluctuation in global oil prices and appreciation of the rupee against the dollar effective from October 16, 2023.

Following the decision of the government, the petrol price has come down by Rs 40 per liter from Rs 323.38 to Rs 283.38 per liter.

The price of high speed diesel (HSD) has also witnessed a decline of Rs 15 per litre from Rs 318.18 to Rs 303.18 per litre.

The price of kerosene oil has been slashed to Rs 214.85 per liter from Rs 237.28, registering a reduction of Rs 22.43 per liter.

The government has increased the petroleum levy (PL) by Rs 5 per liter on high speed diesel from Rs 50 to Rs55 per liter.

The government is charging Rs 60 per liter petroleum levy (PL) on petrol.

The government is charging a Rs 50 per liter petroleum levy on HOBC and a Rs 32.56 per liter petroleum levy on E-10 gasoline.

According to sources, the price of petroleum products on Platts reduced drastically and the Pak rupee strengthened against the US dollar. The average gain of the Pak Rupee against the US dollar in the last fortnight days was Rs 7.50.

The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) that imports petroleum products was allowed an exchange loss adjustment of Rs 0.74 per liter on petrol.

The government had also allowed an increase in dealers’ margins of Rs 0.41 per liter on petrol and diesel from Rs 7.82 to Rs 8.23 per liter.

The margin of oil marketing companies (OMCs) has also been increased by Rs 0.33 per liter from Rs 7.08 to Rs 7.41 per liter on petrol.

It raised margins on high speed diesel by Rs 0.47 per liter from Rs 6.94 to Rs 7.41 per liter.
