Petroleum and OGDCL object MD Mari hiring

Islamabad: The Petroleum Division and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) have objected direct hiring of managing director of Mari Petroleum without following interview process.

Sources told Newztodays.com that the management of Mari Petroleum has set aside the concerns of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (Ogdcl) and Petroleum division to follow interview process and decides to hire managing director directly which may lead to controversy.

The management of Mari Petroleum called an emergency meeting of board of directors on Monday to make direct hiring of managing director.

Sources say that Faheem Haider reportedly heading a small company is being tipped to become new managing director of Mari Petroleum.

Ogdcl and government of Pakistan are shareholders of Mari Petroleum. However, management of Mari Petroleum say that it is their power to appoint new managing director and they have authority which process they should follow, officials added.
