PPL MD removed

Islamabad: The PTI government has removed Saeed Ullah Shah from the post of managing director Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL).
The board of directors of PPL has given acting charge of MD to the director board of PPL Saeed Ullah Shah that sparked controversy.
The government has now giving acting charge to Deputy managing director PPL Moin Raza Khan to take effect from January 1 till the appointment of MP.
PPL MD was supposed to sit in his office based in Karachi- PIDC house to run the company business effectively.
However, former MD Mr, Shah has been sitting mostly in Islamabad in order to extend his duration by utilizing contact with ministry and other resourceful persons of the Government. Existing board members of PPL were selected by N-league mainly Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad, Mr. Ishaq Dar & others.
These board members have fired Mr. Nadeem Qureshi ( a board member) who was digging out the famous case of MND purchase with 180 US dollars. The actual price evaluated by the inquiry team is 60 US dollars. NAB has submitted this case to the Supreme Court.
Saeed Ullah Shah was famous to sit on the files and slow down the work and had zero experience of running such an organization i.e. E & P company operations, however, he was initially posted as a board member and then MD-PPL bypassing the rules.
Usually, in the absence, of MD, senior-most i.e. DMD-Asset Operation is given the responsibilities of MD to run the system during the interim period.
However, the existing board had intentionally given MD-PPL responsibility to an incompetent person due to which company operations have affected a lot ( wells drilling will be delayed).
There are few discoveries that have been announced by the DGPC office ( like Adhi South X-1 well- a huge oil discovery) but the existing MD has stopped its bonus.
A government retired person cannot work as Head of the Public company for the 2 years after his retirement. However, Mr. Saeed Ullah Shah has been given special favor.
