PTCL Reports 12% Revenue Growth Amid Key Acquisition

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the leading telecom and ICT services provider in Pakistan, announced robust financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, showcasing significant year-on-year (YoY) growth and strategic business milestones.
PTCL’s consolidated revenue rose by 12% compared to the previous year, driven by strong performances across fixed broadband, enterprise, wholesale, and mobile segments. The company’s operating profit surged by 216% YoY, reaching Rs. 18.2 billion, while net profit stood at Rs. 1.4 billion despite a one-off pension liability of Rs. 6.9 billion mandated by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
A major highlight of 2025 was PTCL’s successful acquisition of Telenor Pakistan, completed on December 31, 2025, following all necessary regulatory approvals. The acquisition marks one of the most significant telecom consolidations in Pakistan’s history. From January 1, 2026, Telenor Pakistan’s operational results will be consolidated with PTCL. The company is moving forward with plans to amalgamate Telenor Pakistan and Ufone, subject to regulatory clearance, aiming to enhance network coverage, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness.
PTCL’s Flash Fiber service led the fiber broadband market with a 50% YoY subscriber growth, maintaining a 33% market share. The launch of the high-value ‘Tez Raftaar’ offer expanded affordable high-speed internet access, supporting broader digital adoption nationwide.
Digital services also showed strong momentum. UPaisa’s 30-day active user base surpassed 1.5 million, with transactions increasing 57% YoY to a record 13.2 million monthly transactions. The UPaisa app recorded over 5.7 million monthly active users. Ufone’s digital sub-brand Onic grew by 169% YoY, reaching over 406,000 subscribers through a fully digital operating model.
Enterprise services expanded significantly, with Ufone enhancing GSM-based corporate offerings and scaling its Device-as-a-Service platform to support IoT and M2M use cases. PTCL Smart Cloud onboarded digital banks, fintech firms, enterprises, and government institutions, driven by demand for sovereign cloud solutions, managed security, and disaster recovery services. The company also upgraded its AI-ready data center infrastructure and strengthened its wholesale segment through strategic partnerships.
Internationally, PTCL reinforced its carrier wholesale leadership with a diversified submarine cable network and resilient national fiber infrastructure, meeting rising global data demands.
PTCL secured major ICT and telecom projects across sectors including banking, education, aviation, healthcare, government, and public institutions. The company also launched Pakistan’s first 5G-ready smart residential community, integrating seamless connectivity with modern living for a future-ready digital lifestyle.
Innovations included becoming the first Pakistani operator to enable end-to-end bill payments and monthly PDF billing via WhatsApp, enhancing digital convenience. PTCL also partnered with Mercantile, Apple’s authorized distributor, to launch the iPhone 17 series bundled with Ufone and Flash Fiber offers in major cities.
PTCL’s social impact initiatives under the ‘Dil Se’ platform earned Gold awards at the Dragons of Pakistan and Dragons of Asia 2025 Awards for campaigns on clean water access and creative excellence.
The company’s programs focused on digital inclusion, social innovation, and community support, including AI-powered sign-language early warning systems for the Deaf community and expanded clean water access in remote areas.
