PTI Govt increases taxes on petrol to 80% against 33% in PML-N regime

Islamabad: The government of PTI has increased taxes on petrol to 80 per cent in a bid to collect more revenue from the consumers.
During time of PML-N, total taxes on petrol stood at Rs 21.44 per litre which accounted for 33.36 per cent.
At present, government is charging Rs 30 per litre petroleum levy on petrol and Rs 30 per litre on high speed diesel which was at highest level.
At present, government is charging Rs 44.5 per litre taxes on petrol which included Rs 30 per litre petroleum levy and Rs 14.5 per litre GST. The total taxes on petrol stood at Rs 21.44 per litre in April 2018 rates stood at Rs 10 per litre petroleum levy and Rs 11.44 per litre sales tax.The total tax had increased by 80 per cent during the present government of PTI.
