Punjab Launches Full Scholarships for Top Students

The Punjab government has launched a full scholarship programme for top-performing students, covering all educational expenses at institutions of their choice.

The initiative aims to remove financial barriers for talented students seeking higher education opportunities and ensure equal access to academic growth.

Approved by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the scheme demonstrates the commitment of government to promoting merit, quality education, and digital inclusion.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced the programme during a BISE Lahore ceremony honouring top achievers in matric and intermediate examinations.

He said the initiative highlights the government’s resolve to support deserving students in achieving their educational ambitions without financial obstacles.

Under the programme, top matric and intermediate performers from Punjab will receive full tuition, hostel, and academic expense coverage.

During the event, laptops were distributed among position holders by Rana Sikandar Hayat and Task Force Chairman Muzammil Mahmood.

Senior officials including Higher Education Secretary Ghulam Fareed and Controller Tauseef-ur-Rehman were also present at the ceremony.

Last week, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched Phase-II of the Honhaar Scholarship and Laptop Scheme for the Rawalpindi Division.

The ceremony took place at the University of Chakwal, where she distributed laptops and scholarship cheques among meritorious students.

Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of empowering youth through merit-based financial and technological support.

In Phase-I, 40,000 laptops and 30,000 scholarships were awarded to students across Punjab under the programme.

Phase-II will distribute 33,311 laptops and 20,000 scholarships to talented and deserving students from various districts of Punjab.

The scheme is set to expand nationwide in Phase-III, benefiting students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
