Punjab Plans Major Review of 11th Grade Curriculum Soon

The Punjab government has decided to revise the eleventh grade syllabus after receiving strong feedback from students and teachers about errors and difficulty.

This decision follows earlier changes made to the ninth grade curriculum under the provinces ongoing education reform initiative introduced across Punjab in early 2025.

Both syllabi were part of a broader plan to modernize classroom education and improve the overall learning environment in schools throughout the province.

Teachers and students complained that the 11th grade textbooks contained complex lessons and several factual inaccuracies, making it difficult for learners.

As a result, the authorities have initiated immediate measures to simplify the syllabus and ensure greater accuracy in the provided educational material.

A senior education department offical said the government intends to promote conceptual understanding and discourage rote learning in the new curriculum framework.

The revised version of the ninth grade syllabus has already received approval, and official notifications for both grades are expected in early November.
