Petrol, Diesel Sales Surpass Refineries’ Output in Sep 2025

Oil refineries’ sale of petrol and high-speed diesel has surpassed production of these products during September 2025.

According to sources, the total production of petrol stood at 197,481 metric tons during the month of September 2025. But sales of diesel reached 205,956 metric tons. OMCs sales up 8% in September 2025

On the HSD side, production stood at 431,961 metric tons against sales of 476,926 metric tons, recording higher sales compared to production of diesel during the period under review.

Sale of Petrol 

The highest MS output came from Pak-Arab Refinery Company (PARCO), which stood at 105,923 tons, and 120,254 tons was sold by the country’s largest oil refinery. 

Parco is a joint venture between Pakistan and the UAE. It is the largest user of crude oil being imported from Saudi Arabia on deferred payments.

Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) has followed Parco, where production stood at 43,500 tons against sales of 39,369 tons.

Attock Refinery mainly uses locally produced crude oil. 

National Refinery Limited (NRL) produced 18,724 tons of petrol, whereas its sales have been recorded at 21,183 tons.

Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has produced 18,430 tons petrol and sold 15,357 tons. Cnergyico Refinery, the country’s largest private sector refinery, has also produced 10,904 tons of petrol against 9,793 tons sold.

Sale of HSD 

Total production of high speed diesel (HSD) reached 431,961 metric tons against sales of 476,926 metric tons. The figures also show that sales of diesel have surpassed production of high speed diesel by refineries.

PARCO has also taken a lead in the production of diesel, which stood at 219,090 tons against the sale of 250,122 tons during the period under review. 

NRL has reported 69,599 tons of production compared to sales of 82,723 tons. PRL produced 64,776 tons of diesel and sold 60,170 tons. ARL production stood at 47,631 tons against sales of 49,805 tons. Cnergyico contributed 30,865 tons of production, whereas its sale of diesel stood at 34,106 tons.

The sale of furnace oil refineries including export stood at 99000 metric tons in September 2025.
