Residents and Traders Unite Against Behria Town, IESCO, and NEPRA Collusion

Bahria Town Rawalpindi: In a significant display of unity and resolve, residents and traders of Bahria Town, led by BRACE President/CEO and RABT Pakistan Country Head, Mr. Tahir Nihad Bajwa, gathered in front of the Malik Riaz Mosque in Phase-8, Bahria Town Rawalpindi, following Juma Prayers.Govt retrieves land of Rs 16bn from Bahria

The gathering, which included members of the media, was a powerful statement against the ongoing collusion between Bahria Town Private Limited (BTPL), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

  1. Call to Action Against Injustice:
    Mr. Tahir Nihad Bajwa urged the entire community to take a stand against the injustices perpetrated by BTPL, IESCO, and NEPRA. He called for a collective boycott of BTPL’s bills until IESCO assumes responsibility for billing and distribution in Bahria Town and ensures legal and fair billing practices. “The people of Pakistan, especially the residents and traders of Bahria Town, must step out of their comfort zones and join forces with those fighting for justice and accountability,” said Mr. Bajwa. He emphasized the importance of community solidarity in the face of oppression, citing the successes of Kashmiri and Bangladeshi movements as examples of what can be achieved when people unite against powerful elites.

    Mr. Bajwa highlighted the achievements of BRACE since its inception on 11th May 2024. In less than four months, BRACE’s message and activities have gained national recognition, resonating with communities across Pakistan. He reaffirmed BRACE’s commitment to leading the charge against BTPL’s illegal practices and restoring justice to the residents of Bahria Town.

    Chairman Rozi Khan of Tajir Itehad Bahria Town expressed his deep frustration with BTPL’s continued exploitation of residents and traders. He accused IESCO and NEPRA of being complicit in BTPL’s schemes, describing them as “partners in crime” with the mafia that has looted the community for years. Several other residents and traders took the opportunity to voice their grievances to the media, sharing personal stories of the hardships they have endured due to BTPL’s actions. The gathering provided a platform for the community to unite and demand accountability from those in power.

    The demonstration saw the active participation of Zahid Mahmood, Director of BRACE and General Secretary of Tajir Itehad, along with Sector, Block, and Phase Chiefs of BRACE.
