Pakistan to export rice, pharmaceutical items to Afghanistan in Pak Rupee

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet has directed Commerce Ministry to take all stakeholders on board before taking a decision on the export of rice and pharmaceutical items to Afghanistan in Pak Currency.
The economic decision-making body had directed the commerce ministry to submit a case relating to the export of proposed items to Afghanistan in Pak Currency.
The commerce ministry informed ECC to export rice and pharmaceutical items to Afghanistan in Pak currency.
Tariff Policy Board in its 36th meeting had also recommended the changes in duties for Afghanistan to be applicable for the current financial year 2021-22 till January 30, 2022.

The ECC invited comments of the technical advisory sub-committee of the ECC which recommended the proposal for approval of ECC.
The ECC considered the case and agreed with the recommendation of the technical advisory sub-committee of the ECC.
It also recommended allowing the export of rice and pharmaceutical items to Afghanistan in Pak Currency.
However, ECC directed coerce ministry to submit after the consideration with all concerned stakeholders.
