Safe Ride App Launched to Curb Bike-Related Crime
Amid rising motorcycle-related street crimes, Peshawar police have made registration mandatory for all riders and introduced a dedicated mobile app.
As per CCPO Mian Saeed, the new Safe Ride app allows riders to register digitally, while those unable to use the app can register manually at police stations.
Registered riders will receive a QR code sticker to be displayed on their motorcycles, integrating all bikes into the Peshawar Police central database.
The initiative aims to deter criminal activity, following incidents of snatching and robberies committed by motorcycle riders across the city.
Police have so far arrested ten suspects linked to these crimes, highlighting the need for stricter monitoring of riders.

Authorities say the system will protect citizens, safeguard riders’ livelihoods, and provide law enforcement with better tools to track offenders.
In Mansehra, police launched a district-wide registration drive for online bike riders under directives of DPO Muhammad Azhar Khan due to rising crimes.
Officials emphasized that while they support lawful ride-hailing riders, misuse of these services for criminal activity will not be tolerated.
Each registered rider in Mansehra will receive a special registration number, and their credentials will be fully documented at the local police station.
Police have urged citizens to encourage riders in their areas to complete mandatory registration to help curb crime and maintain public safety.
