Samsung Galaxy S22 Users Face Bootloops and Battery Issues

Several Samsung Galaxy S22 owners have reported serious device malfunctions following the January 2026 software update. Users are experiencing persistent bootloops, where their phones get stuck on the Samsung startup logo, as well as frequent freezing and random restarts that make the devices nearly unusable.
According to complaints highlighted by PiunikaWeb, the update has caused some devices to enter a continuous reboot cycle. Others who can still power on their phones face significant performance issues. Attempts to fix the problems through factory resets, wiping cache partitions, or disabling features like RAM Plus have proven ineffective.

In addition to bootloop issues, many users report severe battery problems. One user described their battery percentage dropping sharply from 80% to 16% within minutes before the phone shut down and refused to charge. Another user claimed the update led to motherboard failure. Samsung offered a discounted repair, but the user requested a full replacement instead.
This is not the first time Samsung has encountered backlash over problematic software updates. In late 2024, two Galaxy S22 users filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that the One UI 6.1.1 update caused endless reboots, permanent data loss, and device failures.
Samsung has not yet officially responded to the current issues or provided a timeline for a fix. The extent of the problem remains unclear, but affected users continue to seek solutions as their devices remain compromised.
