Shell, KE to set up EV charging stations
Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) and K-Electric have signed a deal to determine the possibility of setting up Electric-Vehicle Charging Stations in Pakistan.
The bid will result in promoting the use of Electric Vehicles in the country.
Both companies will set up the first three Electric-Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations across Karachi and highways connecting to it.
They have also identified the locations to install 50 KWH Rapid chargers. They included the Shell Defence Filling-Station on Khayaban-e-Bahria, Askari Filling Station at Gulshan Town, and Mardan Filling Station at Gadap Town.
However, they will also further explore the possibility of expanding the EV charging network strategically during the next 3 to 5 years. The K. E will develop grid enhancement, whereas Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) will develop charging station equipment. It will also prepare the site, install, and deal with its operations.
