Sindh Cabinet Approves Digital Reforms to Simplify Business

The Sindh cabinet has approved a comprehensive set of digital reforms aimed at simplifying and streamlining the business registration process across the province.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced on Tuesday during the 50th meeting of the Public-Private Partnership Policy Board held in Karachi.

Key among the reforms is the introduction of an e-licensing portal that will integrate 16 different government departments, enabling automated issuance of provisional certificates for shops and factories. This digital transformation aims to significantly reduce bureaucratic hurdles and facilitate faster business registration.

In addition to digital reforms, the Sindh Labour Department has proposed legal amendments to modernize industrial laws, further enhancing the ease of doing business in the province. These amendments have been approved by the cabinet and are set to be presented to the Sindh Assembly for formal adoption.

Alongside business reforms, the cabinet also approved initiatives to improve road safety and professional driving standards. A project to establish Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) and Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) driver training schools across Sindh under a public-private partnership framework was greenlit.

This move aligns with the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2025, which mandates compulsory pre-license driving training for all HTV and LTV applicants. Licensing authorities will now process applications only after candidates complete certified training from recognized institutions.

Furthermore, the Public-Private Partnership Policy Board approved multiple projects in the education, transport, and tourism sectors, signaling a broader commitment to development across Sindh.

These reforms reflect the Sindh government’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology and policy improvements to create a more business-friendly environment and enhance public safety through professional training standards.
