Customer follows unique techniques to steal gas through CNG Cylinders

SNGPL, Lahore Region has unearthed gas theft by CNG station through CNG cylinders. The customer used CNG cylinders to steal gas and sold it in the open market.

SNGPL, Lahore Region in coordination with Head Office Task Force has conducted a raid at A-One CNG Station and unearthed gas theft, Phool Nagar last night at 0100 a.m. i.e. 05.01.2022. It observed that the consumer was stealing gas by tampering with the meter through the application of a magnet on the meter body.

The pilfered gas was being filled in heavy trailer mounted 270 Nos. CNG Cylinders. Currently, the trailer is in the custody of Police Station Phool Nagar City.

Due to theft of gas, the subject meter was disconnected from the site and the service line was capped. On the way back to the office, the accused chased SNGPL vehicles, where the meter was placed, damaging the Company’s 2 Nos.

SNGPL had applied for registration of FIRs in Police Station Phool Nagar City and Police Station Manga against the consumer/accused of stealing gas through CNG cylinder.

Now, the Police station had registered FIR against the CNG station owner for involving in gas theft.
