Traffic Advisory Issued for Major Islamabad Routes

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued an advisory, warning commuters of heavy traffic expected on key routes on December 8 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

According to the details, the advisory also covers December 9, when traffic is expected to be heavy from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Motorists were advised to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and avoid unnecessary travel during these peak hours.

The department highlighted Faisal Avenue, Islamabad Expressway, and Srinagar Highway as likely areas of significant congestion.

The police announced closures of Express Chowk and Marriott Gate for Red Zone entry, directing motorists to use alternate main roads.

Alternate routes were suggested for various directions, with Rawalpindi to Islamabad commuters advised to use Rawal Road, 9th Avenue, Faqueer Aipee, or Srinagar Highway.

Travelers from Islamabad to Rawalpindi were advised to use Zero Point or Srinagar Highway toward 9th Avenue.

Commuters arriving from Murree or Bhara Kahu may divert to Korang Road, Bani Gala route, Park Road, or Lehtrar Road.

ITP confirmed that officers will remain stationed at major points to manage traffic flow and assist drivers.

Authorities urged citizens to stay informed through ITP Radio 92.4 FM and updates shared on Islamabad Police’s official social media channels.
