Islamabad: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rolled over the payment of a $2 billion Pakistan loan.
Pakistani foreign minister spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in a tweet. This is a development in wake of Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mahmood’s visit to UAE.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office spokesperson lauded the decision of the UAE and said that it symbolized the depth and strength of bilateral ties.
Recently, the UAE Ambassador had confirmed in an interview UAE had been mediating between Pakistan and India through the back door channel to normalize the relations.
Furthermore, there were also reports that the Pakistani foreign ministers would meet the Indian foreign ministers during the visit to UAE. However, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had stated that India should talk face to face rather than backdoor channels to resolve the issue of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
