OGRA Giving Undue Favor to Total Parco, Shell: PAC Chairman

Islamabad: Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Thursday alleged Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) for giving undue favor to Total Parco and Shell.
A Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee, which is the custodian of public money on Thursday expressed annoyance over the negligence and poor performance of the Oil and Gas Regular Authority in the energy and oil sector across Pakistan.Amid Economic Crisis: Shell Announces to sell petroleum stake
The PAC Chairman Noor Alam Khan strongly passed harsh comments over the irresponsible behavior of OGRA Chairman Masroor Khan.
He said that OGRA is giving undue favor to Private Oil companies like Total Parco and Shell which is against the rules and code of conduct.
“Why is OGRA not giving permission to PSO for development of new petrol pumps in the Sindh and Balochistan Province”, asked Chairman PAC to Chairman OGRA.
PAC observed that OGRA has not submitted its audit reports to the committee for the last many years.
PAC Chairman directed the NAB and FIA to assist the Audit Team regarding the provision of official records and data from OGRA.Total decides to quit the aviation business at Jinnah International Aiport
Noor Alam Khan added that OGRA would submit audit reports in the upcoming Tuesday.
He said that Chairman OGRA should resign if he failed to provide records and data to the audit team.
He hinted to Chairman OGRA to prepare for Contempt of Parliament for failing to submit an audit report in the upcoming Tuesday.
