VIP Security: PM, CMs, governors, judges spend Rs4.6b

Islamabad: The spendings on VIP security have put a burden on the taxpayers.  Prime Minister, President, Chief Ministers, governors, civil servants, and judges are spending Rs 4.6 billion annually on their VVIP security and protocol.

The government is spending Rs 1 billion per annum on the deployment of ICT Police, rangers, and frontier constabulary for VVIP security in the federal capital.

The spending on VIP security of Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, minister of states, SAPMs and advisor amounts to Rs 700 million.

The government is spending Rs 287.4 million on protocol and security of judges and Rs 109.7 million on serving and other public office holders in the federal capital.

The government is also spending Rs 2.5 billion on Punjab Police for the security of VVIPs.

Punjab Police

The government is spending Rs 446.8 million on the deployment of Punjab policy for security of Prime Minister, government, and chief minister Punjab, Rs 105.8 million on deployment for former chief ministers, federal, provincial ministers, SAPMs, and advisor to PM and CM.

The government has deployed 78 police personnel for the security of President Arif Alvi at a cost of Rs 4.4 million per month.

The security cost of the judiciary amounts to Rs 1.14 billion on account of the deployment of Punjab Police.

The government is also spending Rs 998 million on the deployment of KP Police.

Spending on PM security, PM House, Zaman Park

The government is spending Rs 46 million per month on the deployment of 596 police officials for VIP security of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Prime Minister Imran Khan uses 19 vehicles.

In addition, the government has deployed 53 Punjab Police personal on the security of Prime Minister House Islamabad at an annual cost of Rs 33 million.

It has also deployed 38 Punjab Police personnel on Mr Imran Khan Zaman Park House Lahore at an annual cost of 22.8 million.

Chief Minister Punjab

Chief Minister Punjab has a deployment of 275 police personnel at the CM Punjab Office at a cost of Rs 167 million.

As many as 67 personnel have been deployed at CM Punjab House at a cost of Rs 40 million.

CM Usman Bazdar has also deployment of 7 personnel at Taunsa House at cost of Rs 4.2 million.

Buzdar has deployed 50 police personnel at CM House DG Khan at an annual cost of Rs 80 million.

He has also deployed 4 personnel at CM Multan House at a cost of Rs 2.4 million.

Governor Punjab Ghulam Sarwar

As many as 152 Punjab Police personnel are providing security to Governor House Punjab that costs Rs 96.85 million.

The government has also deployed 39 Punjab Police personnel for the security of the house of Governor Muhammad Sarwar in DHA Lahore House.

At present, two former chief ministers are enjoying the security of Punjab Police, 39 federal and provincial ministers, 11 SAPMs/advisors to PM and CM at a cost of Rs 105 million per month.

Moreover, the government has deployed 1820 Punjab Police personnel for the security of 430 judges who include retired judges at an annual cost of Rs 1.14 billion. They are also using 82 vehicles.

Out of total cost, the government is spending Rs 833 million per annum on the security of serving civil servants, retired civil servants, and other public officeholders.

At present, the government has also deployed 759 Punjab police personnel for the security of 174 serving civil servants at a cost of Rs 476 million.

Moreover, it deployed 339 Punjab police personnel to provide security to 107 retired civil servants at a cost of Rs 204 million.

As many as 39 other public office holders are enjoying the security of 168 Punjab police personnel at a cost of Rs 102 million.

Chief Minister, Governor KP

Chief Minister KP is spending Rs 147 million per annum on his security and using 5 vehicles.

He has deployment of 388 KP Police personnel to maintain his security.

Meanwhile, KP government spending on security amounts to Rs 54 million per annum. He has 4 vehicles and deployment of 118 KP Police Personnel.
