Vivo Set to Launch New S50 Smartphone Series
Vivo is preparing to unveil its new S50 smartphone lineup, reportedly skipping the “S40” name due to cultural superstition surrounding the number four in China.
The upcoming S50 series will serve as the successor to the S30 lineup, which was introduced earlier this year to positive market reception.
Leaks suggest the series will include two models, the S50 and S50 Pro Mini, both featuring refined designs and upgraded internal components for enhanced performance.
The S50 Pro Mini is expected to retain a 6.31-inch display, while the S50 may arrive with a slightly larger 6.59-inch screen configuration.
Both smartphones are said to offer 1.5K resolution and flat displays, appealing to users seeking balanced clarity, efficiency, and comfortable everyday usage.
A key highlight of the standard S50 model is its metal frame combined with a high-end periscope telephoto camera, typically seen in flagship devices.

The S50 Pro Mini, meanwhile, is rumored to include premium-grade hardware throughout its build, although complete specification details have not yet been disclosed.
Reports indicate the S50 Pro Mini could feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a triple camera system with periscope support.
These upgrades position the new lineup as a strong contender within the upper mid-range smartphone category, especially among photography-focused users.
The Vivo S50 series is expected to launch in China within the coming weeks, marking the brand’s latest entry in competitive market cycles.
Once released, the lineup is expected to face direct competition from Oppo’s Reno15 range and Honor’s upcoming 500 series across similar price brackets.
