According to oil industry officials, these illegal filling stations were selling Iranian smuggled oil.
They have posed a serious threat to human lives which requires the attention of law enforcement agencies and concerned departments.
These are illegal petrol filling points surfacing a high risk to the surroundings. One such filling point had surfaced at main Sabzazar Road Lahore.
Chairman Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Abdul Sami Khan had raised the issue of Iranian smuggled petrol and diesel being sold openly.
In a letter written to law enforcement agencies, he also raised the issue of illegally established petrol and diesel agencies with dispensing units in every nook and corner of the country.
They are better to be called PETROL BOMBS Instead of an illegal business, oil industry officials said adding that these are a continuous threat to the lives of the general public besides those who are directly involved in the illegal business.
They are using plastic tanks and substandard dispensing units with precautionary and safety measures.
