Watch: Zafar and Haider Collaborate on Nostalgic Hit Track
Pakistani pop icons Ali Haider and Ali Zafar have teamed up for a fresh take on Haider’s 1994 hit Zalim Nazron Se, marking Zafar’s first studio album in 15 years.
The collaboration, released on Friday, blends nostalgia with contemporary production, aiming to introduce classic Pakistani music to a new generation.
The original song was performed by ghazal singer Jawaid Akhtar in 1979, with lyrics by Roshan Naginavi.
A press release noted that Zafar’s choice of the track reflects his “vision of reconnecting Pakistan’s musical heritage with today’s generation.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Haider described the experience as “truly special,” adding that Zafar’s idea immediately inspired him.

Zafar called Haider “an icon who shaped the soundtrack of our youth” and described working together as “an honour and a joy.”
The accompanying music video pays homage to the golden era of Pakistani pop, featuring flashy cars, background dancers, and stylish close-ups of the singers in sunglasses.
The visuals and production values highlight the celebratory tone of the collaboration.
While the full album’s release date remains unconfirmed, Zafar hinted on Instagram that fans should “circle the 20th of December,” suggesting the album may drop around that time.
