ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has witnessed a remarkable surge in the exports during the financial year 2023-24 due to concerted efforts of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).


According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the country’s merchandise exports grew by 10.54 percent, reaching 30.64 billion dollars in the fiscal year 2023-24.Agri, food exports witnessing significant increase: SIFC


Conversely, imports decreased by 0.84 percent to 54.73 billion dollars during the same period.


Through the continuous efforts of the SIFC and the Ministry of Commerce, new markets in Jordan, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, and Egypt have been opened for meat exports.


For the first time ever, Pakistan’s agro-exports surged by 37 percent, from 5.8 billion dollars to 8 billion dollars.


With this level of progress, Pakistan’s agricultural sector is poised to achieve its export target of 10 billion dollars in the current fiscal year.


The substantial rise in exports highlights the growing significance of Pakistani products in the international market and the transformative initiatives of the SIFC.
