Pakistan Rupee Strenghtens again

The Pakistani rupee gained against the US dollar on Thursday and appreciated 0.01% in the inter-bank market on the closing session.

At the close of the inter-bank market, the Pakistani rupee stood at 281.41 against the US dollar, registering a reduction of Rs 0.02.

On Wednesday, the local unit closed at 281.43.

Internationally, the US dollar was steady on Thursday, holding its overnight gains, as traders weighed the prospect of a measured Fed easing cycle in the wake of a cautious tone from policymakers while awaiting data that may outline the impact of tariffs

The Pakistani rupee on Thursday again strengthened against the dollar and was appreciating by 0.08% during the morning session in intra-day trading.

The Pakistani rupee stood at 281.20, recording a gain of Rs0.23 against the US dollar.

The USD to PKR stood at 281.43 on Wednesday.

The global economic situation also impacts the Pakistani rupee rate against the dollar and other currencies.

The US dollar remained steady in the global market on Thursday with overnight gains. Traders are betting on the prospect of a measured Fed easing cycle following a cautious tone from policymakers. They have been waiting for data that is likely to impact tariffs.

Oil prices have been a key indicator of currency parity which eased in Asian trade on Thursday.

Brent futures have slipped 26 cents, or 0.4% and reached  $69.05 a barrel by 0350 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures also dropped by 27 cents, or 0.4%, and reached $64.72 a barrel.
