India Pakistan Air Clash Claims Reignite Fresh Controversy
India Pakistan clash narratives resurfaced after Indian Air Chief Marshal AP Singh claimed that the Indian Air Force destroyed five Pakistani aircraft during the May 2025 battle.
Speaking at the Air Force annual press conference, Singh alleged that advanced Pakistani jets, including F-16s and JF-17s, were downed, but he offered no evidence.
His remarks, made more than 150 days after the conflict, reignited criticism as he avoided questions on Indian losses and declined to confirm missing aircraft.
Singh insisted Pakistan should release images if Indian jets were destroyed, yet he remained silent when pressed on Rafale and MiG-29 wreckage.
Pakistan, however, countered immediately, reaffirming its claim of downing seven Indian aircraft, with international voices, including US President Trump, endorsing the Pakistani position.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the episode at the United Nations, calling it a decisive victory for Pakistan Air Force falcons against Indian aggression.
Even Indian opposition leaders and Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan have questioned missing Rafale jets, while the Modi government maintains silence amid growing criticism.
Global circulation of wreckage images, including tractors carrying destroyed Indian fighters, continues to undermine New Delhi’s claims, leaving India accused of relying on hollow rhetoric.
