Pakistan Among Lowest in Latest Passport Rankings

Pakistani passport has fallen seven places in the latest Henley Passport Index 2025, ranking 103 worldwide compared with its previous position at 96 last year.

According to the newly updated index, Pakistani citizens can now travel visa free to only thirty one countries, down from thirty two previously.

Pakistan shares its rank with Yemen, while Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan remain at the bottom of the index, placed 104, 105, and 106 respectively.

Neighbouring India has also faced a decline in the latest ranking, slipping to 85 position compared to its earlier standing in the same index.

At the top of the list, Singapore continues to hold the world strongest passport, providing visa free access to one hundred ninety three countries.

South Korea and Japan follow in second and third positions, granting their citizens visa free access to one hundred ninety and one hundred eighty nine countries.

Several European nations including Germany, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, and Switzerland jointly hold the fourth position with access to one hundred eighty eight countries.

Meanwhile, the United States passport has dropped to twelfth place, offering visa free travel to one hundred eighty destinations worldwide in the latest ranking.

Experts attribute this decline to Washington implementing tighter visa reciprocity measures, which have limited the number of countries offering Americans visa free entry.

In contrast, China has demonstrated significant progress, rising from ninety fourth in 2015 to sixty fourth in 2025 after signing several new visa agreements.
