Fifteen years after becoming a cultural phenomenon, 3 Idiots is reportedly returning again with a sequel featuring its beloved on-screen principal cast.
Reports say Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi will reunite under Rajkumar Hirani’s direction and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production.
A new report suggests the sequel will act as a direct continuation of the 2009 film, revisiting characters nearly fifteen years after their separation.
Insiders describe the revival as fresh, meaningful and humorous, promising the return of Rancho, Pia, Farhan and Raju in a new adventure.
A source quoted by Pinkvilla said the script has been locked and that the team feels the magic of the first film has returned.

Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan are reportedly pausing work on a Dadasaheb Phalke biopic because they are dissatisfied with its script development.
This delay reportedly allowed Hirani to expand a long-held idea for a sequel into a full-fledged screenplay and to move forward now.
Released in December 2009, 3 Idiots became one of Bollywood’s most iconic and highest-grossing films, praised for comedy, emotion and educational commentary.
Although no formal announcement has been made, social media excitement is rising as fans react to news of the original cast and the finalised script.
With the script reportedly finalised, anticipation is high for one of Bollywood’s most awaited sequels.
