Lahore Opens Three New Centers for Commercial Driving Licenses

The Lahore Traffic Police has expanded its commercial driving license services for rickshaw drivers by establishing three new licensing centers across the city. This move aims to improve accessibility and reduce congestion at the existing facility.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, applicants can now obtain commercial driving licenses at four locations: Manawan, Ichhra Licensing Center Town, Greater Iqbal Park, and Wapda Town. Previously, the Manawan center was the sole facility for issuing these licenses.
The three newly added centers will operate from Thursday to Sunday, allowing more flexible options for applicants and reducing travel time and delays. This expansion is part of a broader initiative to make the licensing process more efficient and citizen-friendly for commercial drivers throughout Lahore.
In addition to expanding license services, the Traffic Police plans to enhance passenger safety by installing QR-code-based panic buttons in rickshaws upon licensing. These panic buttons are designed to improve emergency response capabilities and offer greater security for passengers.
The initiative reflects a strategic effort to streamline commercial license issuance while reinforcing safety protocols in Lahore’s transportation sector.
