Sindh to Digitize Food Authority with E-Challans

The Sindh government has decided to implement e-challans in the Food Authority, following a successful model already used in traffic management.
During a meeting between Sindh’s Minister for Food, Mehboob-uz-Zaman, and PPP Women’s Wing Chairperson Faryal Talpur, officials gave briefings.
They provided detailed information on online registration, complaint management, and the digital challan system.
The minister stated that digitizing the Sindh Food Authority will provide citizens with more efficient and transparent services.
He also briefed Faryal Talpur on recent actions against substandard food and the department’s vet stock policy.

Earlier this year, the Sindh Food Authority inspected a Karachi Five-Star Hotel near PID, finding serious safety violations.
Authorities seized 25 kilograms of expired meat, outdated buttercream, and other substandard food items during the raid.
The inspection showed the hotel ignored basic food safety protocols, with unhygienic practices found in kitchens and washing areas.
These findings prompted the Sindh Food Authority to file a case, stressing accountability and stricter food safety enforcement.
