Former England captain Michael Vaughan has said he was forced to take shelter inside a restaurant during a shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
Vaughan said he and his family returned home safely, thanking emergency services and the individual who confronted attacker.
He said a restaurant bouncer approached him while holding a gun and instructed him to move inside the restaurant for safety.
Vaughan said they were only a few hundred steps away from where the attack occurred and initially heard loud sirens in the area.
He explained that such sirens are often linked to shark alerts or fights, but it soon became clear the situation involved gunfire.
