Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has emerged as Pakistan’s leading province in mobile phone ownership and household internet access, according to a report by Free and Fair Network.

The report said 51 percent of KP residents use mobile phones, while 77 percent of households have internet connectivity across the province as reported nationally.

FAFEN noted that household use of computers and laptops has remained largely unchanged since 2019, despite significant increases in mobile ownership and internet availability nationwide.

During the same period, mobile phone ownership rose from 45 percent to 50 percent, while household internet availability increased from 33 percent to 70 percent.

The report highlighted provincial differences, showing computer access in 15 percent of Punjab and Sindh households, 13 percent in KP, and six percent in Balochistan.

It said personal mobile ownership stands at 50 percent in Punjab and Sindh, 42 percent in Balochistan, while household internet access varies provincially by FAFEN.
