Australia confirmed their playing XI for the first T20I against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, ahead of the three-match series starting on Thursday evening.
Opener Travis Head will captain the side in the series opener, as regular captain Mitchell Marsh has been rested to manage his workload effectively.
Marsh, who recently completed the Big Bash League season with Perth Scorchers, joined the Australian squad late in Pakistan after playing the BBL season finale.
The match will see international T20I debuts for Mahli Beardman and Jack Edwards, while Matthew Renshaw will make his T20I debut for the Australian side.
Renshaw, a 29-year-old left-handed batter, has previously represented Australia in 14 Tests and three ODIs since 2016 but will play his first T20I on Thursday.

The second and third T20Is of the series are scheduled at the same venue on January 31 and February 1, with tosses at 5:30pm PKT and first balls at 6:00pm PKT.
This series offers crucial match practice for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
Pakistan is in Group A with India, USA, Netherlands and Namibia, while Australia is in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Oman for the T20 World Cup.
This marks Australia’s third tour to Pakistan since March–April 2022, when they played a historic Test series, followed by an ODI series and a single T20I match.
Historically, Australia and Pakistan have played 28 T20Is, with Australia winning 14, Pakistan 12, one match tied, and another producing no result in previous encounters.
