Under the Ramzan Nigahban Package, prices of essential food items have been fixed in special markets to ensure affordability during the holy month.

A key meeting regarding the package was held at the Department of Food Safety and Consumer Protection, chaired by Special Assistant Salma Butt.

During Ramzan, a 10-kilogram bag of flour will be available for Rs850 in model, convenience, and Ramzan markets, with each flour mill required to set up three sale points in its district.

Chicken and eggs will also be offered at subsidized rates in the special markets to support families throughout the month.

In addition, 1,216 ‘Maryam Ka Dastarkhwan’ centers will be established across 152 tehsils in Punjab, providing meals to 250 people daily during Ramzan.

Salma Butt confirmed that all model and convenience Ramzan markets in Punjab will start operations from February 15 and will remain open daily from 9am to 5pm.
