Instagram Launches Feature to Rearrange Photo Grid

Instagram, one of the leading social media platforms globally, has introduced a new feature allowing users to rearrange their photo grids on mobile devices. This update offers users enhanced customization options to organize their profiles visually according to their preferences.

The innovative feature enables users to change the order of their posted photos, regardless of when they were originally uploaded. Whether a photo was shared recently or even a decade ago, users can now move it to any desired spot in their photo grid. However, pinned posts remain fixed at the top of the profile and cannot be rearranged.

This option follows several years of experimentation by Instagram. Insights from reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi in 2022 revealed that the platform was working on this functionality by embedding hidden code allowing grid modification. Now the feature is officially available to all users worldwide, both on iOS and Android devices.

To utilize this feature, users must first ensure their Instagram app is updated to the latest version. They can then access their camera roll, long-press any photo, and select the “Reorder grid” option from the appearing menu to rearrange photos effortlessly.

For users who have dedicated significant effort into curating their Instagram profiles, this capability provides greater control and creative freedom over their visual presentation. It marks an important step in granting users more authority in managing their content display on the platform.
