Auction Date Announced for Two New PSL Sides
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has taken a significant step toward its long-planned expansion after confirming the auction date for two new franchises.
The league announced that the auction will be held on 6 January 2026, marking the most substantial structural move in its history.
The decision follows the completion of market valuations for existing teams and commercial assets, providing the financial clarity needed to move forward.
Officials said only bidders who meet strict technical criteria will participate, ensuring that new investors bring stability and long-term commitment to the competition.

The expansion is expected to reshape the competitive landscape of PSL, introduce new rivalries, and offer more playing opportunities for young cricketers across the country.
PSL management said the move reflects growing confidence in the commercial strength of the league and its role in developing the cricketing future of Pakistan.
Ahead of the auction, the PCB has shortlisted six cities for potential franchise identities: Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
Successful bidders will have the right to choose from these cities once the auction concludes.
