Australia–Pakistan ODI Dates Likely to Shift

Australia’s planned ODI tour of Pakistan is expected to shift from its original March 2026 window as both boards discuss a revised schedule.

Sources familiar with the matter say the three-match series, initially placed in the Future Tours Programme for 13–19 March, is now unlikely to proceed as planned.

Officials from PCB and CA are in contact to determine new dates, with talks focusing on staging the ODIs after the conclusion of the upcoming Pakistan Super League eidtion.

The adjustment is being explored to avoid calendar congestion and ensure full-strength squads for both sides the for the white-ball series.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that While the ODI timeline remains under review, Australia’s T20I tour of Pakistan is confirmed.

The three-match series will be played from 30 January to 5 February and will serve as preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Cricket Australia chief executive Todd Greenberg, speaking during an online media briefing on 3 June, said the board remained committed to touring Pakistan.

He described recent communication between the two boards as constructive and highlighted the significance of regular bilateral cricket.

Greenberg said both countries were keen to expand playing opportunities, recalling Australia’s successful return to Pakistan in 2022 after a long absence.

CA chief executive noted the warm reception received then and expressed hope that such tours would continue.

Pakistan last visited Australia in November 2024, securing a landmark 2–1 win in the ODI series, their first ODI series victory there since 2002.

The home side responded strongly by sweeping the T20I leg 3–0.
