The current government had imposed a 20 percent additional regulatory duty in mini budget that was expired in March this year.

The Auto Traders and Importers Association in Pakistan has made it clear that removal of 20 percent duty on used cars wound not have any bearing impact on the prices.
Senior Vice President Association Syed Amir Ali said that there would not be any significant impact on the prices of used cars.
He said that government had imposed duty six months back to shrink the imports and the prices of used cars had already witnessed hike.
According to him, other factors like devaluation of rupee against dollars and supply demand situation also contributed to hike in used car prices.
But he accepted that removal of duty was a positive impact regarding the used cars industry in Pakistan.
