Chery Master Pakistan will launch Tiggo 7 PHEV on April 10, expanding its hybrid vehicle lineup with a locally assembled model aimed at reducing fuel costs and boosting competition in the SUV market.
Chery Master Pakistan announced it will launch the Tiggo 7 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle on April 10 in Islamabad, marking a significant expansion of its new energy vehicle portfolio in the country. The company said the launch forms part of its strategy to build Pakistan’s largest completely knocked down plug-in hybrid lineup while intensifying competition in the C-segment SUV market.

The Tiggo 7 PHEV will be introduced as a locally assembled model from the outset, reflecting the company’s commitment to domestic production and supply chain development. Deliveries are expected to begin by June 2026, subject to booking volumes, with early allocation likely influenced by demand levels following the launch.
Chery Master Pakistan said the timing of the launch aligns with rising fuel prices in the country, positioning the Tiggo 7 PHEV as a cost-efficient mobility solution. The company stated the vehicle can reduce fuel costs by more than 70 percent compared with conventional petrol-powered SUVs when used in pure electric mode for daily commuting.
The company added that the shift toward plug-in hybrid technology could also contribute to lowering fuel imports and reducing dependence on imported energy. This aligns with broader efforts to promote energy-efficient transportation solutions while addressing cost pressures faced by consumers.
The Tiggo 7 PHEV is built on Chery’s fifth-generation Super Hybrid architecture, designed as a purpose-built platform for hybrid performance. The system combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an 18.3 kWh battery and a dedicated hybrid transmission, delivering a total output of 255 kilowatts or 342 horsepower and torque of 525 Newton meters.
According to the company, the vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.4 seconds, placing it competitively within the segment. It also offers over 90 kilometres of pure electric driving range, enabling daily commutes without fuel consumption when fully charged.
The combined driving range exceeds 1,200 kilometres, allowing the vehicle to serve both urban commuting and long-distance travel needs. This dual-use capability is being highlighted as a key advantage for consumers seeking flexibility without compromising on efficiency or performance.
Chery Master Pakistan said the Tiggo 7 series has remained among China’s best-selling SUVs for four consecutive years. It also ranks among the most exported models in the company’s global portfolio, indicating sustained international demand and market acceptance.
The vehicle is equipped with safety and technology features aimed at enhancing driver experience and passenger protection. These include eight airbags and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, along with a 24.6-inch dual display interface, a Sony audio system, and vehicle-to-load capability for external power usage.
Globally, Chery has maintained its position as China’s largest automotive exporter for more than two decades, with operations spanning over 120 countries. The company’s global user base exceeds 19 million, reflecting its scale and international footprint across diverse automotive markets.
In Pakistan, Chery operates through Master Auto Engineering, which is part of the Master Group. The group brings more than 60 years of industrial and automotive experience, supporting the brand’s local manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
The company said dealership and aftersales infrastructure has been established nationwide ahead of the launch. Test drives are already available across its network, allowing potential customers to experience the vehicle prior to official bookings.
Pricing and booking details will be announced separately on April 10, coinciding with the official launch event. Management indicated that early deliveries are being prioritised, partly to address potential changes in government policy that could affect hybrid vehicle adoption or pricing structures.
With limited plug-in hybrid options currently available in the segment, the Tiggo 7 PHEV enters the market as a technologically advanced alternative to conventional petrol and standard hybrid SUVs. Chery Master Pakistan is positioning the model to capture demand from consumers seeking lower operating costs and modern vehicle technology.
The launch underscores Chery Master Pakistan’s strategy to expand its presence in the country’s evolving automotive landscape. By introducing locally assembled plug-in hybrid vehicles, the company aims to strengthen its competitive position while contributing to the gradual transition toward electrified mobility solutions.
