Concerns have emerged over Sehat Card hospital listings after patients in Islamabad reported inconsistencies between official government records and services available at listed hospitals there.

The issue relates to the Prime Minister’s National Health Program, which promises free medical treatment to eligible citizens at approved public and private hospitals nationwide.

Official information is published through government-managed online portals, including empanelled hospitals directories overseen by state health authorities for patient guidance and public access and verification.

According to the official directory, Maroof International Hospital in Islamabad’s F Ten Markaz is listed as a panel hospital under the scheme on health portals.

Patients said the hospital’s detailed listing showed no treatment packages or covered services available for Health Card holders under program according to official online records.

Visitors also reported difficulty finding a dedicated Health Card counter, while hospital staff were unable to process cases under scheme during patient visits there locally.

Patients said such discrepancies caused confusion, particularly for families travelling long distances based on official listings expecting free medical treatment under the national health programme.

The situation has raised concerns about reliability of government health databases supporting a welfare programme intended for vulnerable communities across multiple regions and hospital facilities.

Health policy observers stress mismatches between online records and on-ground implementation can weaken public confidence in welfare initiatives requiring regular audits clearer coordination mechanisms nationally.

No formal clarification has been issued regarding Maroof International Hospital’s status, as patients urge authorities to update portals and ensure transparency under the Sehat Card.
