The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), in collaboration with the Pakistan Digital Authority, is set to host the Pakistan FinTech Summit (PFS) on August 18–19, 2026. This event marks the first international extension of the Dubai FinTech Summit platform, highlighting the growing fintech collaboration between the UAE and Pakistan.
The summit aims to gather a diverse group of stakeholders including policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, technology firms, investors, and startups. The focus will be on advancing Pakistan’s digital finance sector and fostering innovation within the broader financial technology landscape.

Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, emphasized that expanding the summit to Pakistan reflects the strengthening ties and increasing engagement in financial technology and digital finance between the two countries.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, noted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to enhance its fintech ecosystem through regulatory reforms, improved digital infrastructure, and cross-border partnerships.
The summit is a key component of Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda, with officials framing financial technology as an integral part of the country’s economic infrastructure rather than a separate industry.
Pakistan’s fintech sector has experienced significant growth recently, with funding reaching $52.5 million in the first half of 2025. By late November 2025, approximately 450 fintech companies had collectively raised $391 million in venture capital.
Despite this progress, challenges persist, including infrastructure limitations and a predominant reliance on cash transactions. Industry experts believe that fintech firms can play a critical role in expanding access to digital financial services, especially in underserved and rural communities.
The summit will feature discussions between regulators from Pakistan and the UAE, and is expected to include announcements related to investments and partnership agreements. Additional details about participating organizations and the event program will be disclosed closer to the summit dates.
