Punjab’s education minister has rejected reports circulating on social media that claim an extension in winter holidays for schools and colleges across the province.
Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that all educational institutions in Punjab will reopen on January 12, in line with the existing academic schedule.
He said no official notification has been issued to extend the winter break and described the viral notice shared online as fake.

The minister stressed that the Education Department has not announced any change to the academic calendar.
Rana Sikandar Hayat reiterated that schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will resume classes from January 12 as planned.
Authorities have advised students, parents, and staff to rely on official information and disregard unverified claims on social media.
