Norway: Plug-in Electric Car Sales In July 2022 Dipped
The plug-in electric car sales in July 2022 are also showing some unsettling trends, as the number of registrations and the market share has fallen year over year for the fourth consecutive month (and six times this year).
Last month, 6,013 new passenger plug-in electric automobiles were registered, which is 32,4 percent fewer than at the same time the previous year. The decline is significant, greater than the market average. The outcome was a market share of 83.0 percent, compared to 84.7 percent a year earlier.
We know that there is a problem with plug-in hybrids, whose sales are down dramatically without generous incentives. Still, the all-electric vehicle market has suffered badly, with a 24 percent decline.
Due to diminished tax advantages, sales of plug-in hybrids continue to decline (CO2 emission component).
In the case of PHEVs, we observe a combination of supply constraints, market uncertainty, and diminished incentives.
Only time will tell if the remainder of this year will produce improved results.
