Expo Dubai 2020:Pakistan to take full Participation
Pakistan will make full participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai that will start on October 1, 2021. It will continue for six consecutive months.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a review meeting on Pakistan’s participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai.
He also deliberated preparations the commerce ministry had made in this regard.
Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Trade Adviser Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Special Assistant Dr Shahbaz Gul, Secretaries of relevant Ministries, Chief Executive Trade Development Authority, and other senior officials attended a meeting.
Officials informed during a meeting that Pakistan’s full participation in this international expo would open up new avenues for trade and investment.
The Pakistani side will introduce various aspects of trade and investment opportunities to the international community to attract investment and boost exports.
Officials gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister on the Pakistani pavilion and its various parts
The Prime Minister emphasized to pay attention to highlighting the abundant investment opportunities in Pakistan during Dubai Expo 2020.
Premier also directed to give special focus on projects like Ravi River Project, Central Business District as well as tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas.
He also stressed on promotion of domestic mineral resources, IT, and religious tourism and attracting international investment in these sectors.
With the active participation of all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, Prime Minister also urged to highlight important provincial projects during the expo.
The Prime Minister directed all the provincial governments to finalize the preparations for the expo as soon as possible.
The commerce ministry held a curtain raiser event for Pakistan Pavilion in Expo Dubai 2020 at a local hotel in Karachi on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
While briefing the media, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Minister of Information & Broadcasting stated that Expo Dubai is the mega thematic exposition and this is a great opportunity for Pakistan to show the world about its immense potential and discover the “hidden treasure”—which is also the theme of Pakistan pavilion in Expo in Dubai 2020.
UAE will hold the Expo 2020 in Dubai from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022 in Dubai, UAE. It is based on the main theme of “Connecting Minds: Creating the Future”. A total of 192 countries are participating in the event and will project their potential to the world. A huge influx of around 25 million visitors from around the world is expected to visit.

Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment informed about the Pakistan Pavilion which will attract investors and tourists to Pakistan. Every province and region of Pakistan will participate to project opportunities in investment and trade, culture, and tourism potential. Coordination with all the stakeholders is underway to make it an all-inclusive event that represents every region & culture of Pakistan.
The Pakistan Pavilion under its theme “The Hidden Treasure,” aims to showcase Pakistan’s vast opportunities in tourism and business, and protrude its magnificent economic potential to the global audience. The brilliant and appealing facade of the pavilion displays the colors and diversity of our country and its people.
The experience of the inner journey of the Pavilion will further show in eight spaces in Expo in Dubai 2020 where visitors will experience through multi-sensory and audio videos. Visitors will be taken on a voyage through time, from the world’s first recorded civilizations to the fast-paced millennium of today which also includes virtual experiences of our breathtaking landscapes, cultural and religious diversity, rich artisan traditions, and strong economic potentials presented in the world of today. Pakistan will present itself as a land of opportunities for trade and investment.

Moreover, a Dhaba (Pakistani cuisine restaurant) and a souvenir shop will be waiting for the visitors at the conclusion of their journey through the Pakistan pavilion depicting the impeccable crafts and providing a taste of the sumptuous cuisine.
Meanwhile, throughout the 6 months of Dubai Expo 2020, there will be cultural events and business seminars incorporate lounges and a variety of activities in multi-purpose rooms. Officials from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Trustees from Patrons of Expo 2020 Trust also attended the event.
