Flood-Affected Students to Get Scholarships, Fee Cuts

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a special relief package to ease educational challenges for students in districts severely affected by devastating floods.

The package includes tuition fee waivers for one semester and admission fee exemptions for first-year BS students studying in flood-affected universities and colleges.

According to details, students from Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot, and Kasur will benefit from these concessions under the provincial government’s special package.

In addition, the registration deadline for universities in affected districts has been extended by 20 days, offering students more time to complete enrollment.

The last date for applying to the Punjab Honhaar Scholarship has also been extended by one month, ensuring wider access to financial support opportunities.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that education must not suffer due to natural disasters, promising continuous provincial support for students and their families during these testing times.

She said the government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted education for youth in disaster-hit areas and will keep supporting them through relief and rehabilitation measures.

The chief minister highlighted that restoring academic activity in flood-affected areas remains a provincial priority, with concrete steps being taken to protect children’s academic future.
