Galaxy A77 Spotted With 8GB RAM, Android 16

Samsung appears to be reviving its Galaxy A7x series with the upcoming Galaxy A77, marking the first new release in the line since the Galaxy A73 in 2022.

The A7x series had remained dormant for nearly two years, leaving fans anticipating a fresh mid-range offering.

A prototype of the Galaxy A77 recently appeared on the Geekbench database, revealing key specifications.

The device is equipped with 8GB of RAM, runs Android 16, and features a “mystery” chipset likely based on Samsung’s Exynos 2400 and 2400e processors.

Analysis of the CPU configuration suggests the chip is positioned below flagship performance levels.

The processor includes three prime cores clocked at 2.78GHz, three performance cores at 2.3GHz, and four efficiency cores at 1.82GHz.

Despite being a deca-core setup similar to Samsung’s premium Exynos chips, the lower clock speeds indicate the device will sit in the upper mid-range segment.

Industry observers note that Samsung may be repurposing lower-end Exynos 2400 series chips to create a capable mid-range device without compromising performance.

This approach allows the company to offer a modern smartphone while optimising existing chip inventories.

The Galaxy A77 is expected to appeal to users seeking a reliable mid-range smartphone with current-generation software.
